For comparison
The first image shows Rembrandt's painting 'A Polish Nobleman' from 1637. It can be seen in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
It shows a man wearing a costume typical of Polish nobility a.k.a szlachta. The identity of the man in the painting is uncertain.
Some claim that it's a form of self-portrait others have proposed various identities for the Polish nobleman.
It could be a portrait Jan Stanisław Jabłonowski (1600-1647), marshal of the extraordinary sejm of 1637. Officials in this position
where equiped with a long rod to strike in the floor when order and silence was called for. Alas there is no picture of Jan Stanisław to decide
if he is the Polish nobleman but there is a picture of his son Stanisław Jan that is shown in the second row. This picture shows marked resemblance to the man in the painting.
The third row shows three self-portraits made by Rembrandt.
